Chaapaak movie is a real-life based story on an Acid attack on one girl. The movie is about one girl named Malti Aggarwal (Deepika Padukone), who had acid attacked in April 2005 in the streets of Delhi. She wants the sale of acid should be ban in India. Also, she is one of the survivors from acid attacks.

She also wants to join for a job, then one of the creators of the foundation for acid attackers known as Amol Dwivedi (Vikrant Massey) recruits her to his organization. Later, she grows feelings for Amol. When she had an attack, police investigate and find out Basheer "Babbu" Khan (Vishal Dahiya), a family friend of Malti's, and his brother's wife Parveen Shaikh guilty. They arrested Baabu because they found out his phone signal in the same area when the attack happened.

Malti’s parents were working in Shiraz's (Payal Nair) house. She helped to arrange a lawyer called Archana Bajaj (Madhurjeet Sarghi) for Malti’s case. Malti was also going through surgeries so that she can fix her damaged face. Archana found out that burning someone with hot water and the acid attack comes into the same section, and the suspect who does will be proven guilty because it is the crime. So, when they went in the court for the first hearing, the order came that Baabu, and Praveen both are guilty because they find out burnt fingers of Praveen, and both of them got imprisoned.

Still, the law for the acid attack was not strong So, Baabu took advantage and got bailed from jail, living a free life. Malti when got to know, then with Archana she prepared one petition in which it was written to ban the sale of acid attack. Afterward, the rest of the story revolves around how will they fight for this case, and will they successfully win this case or not?
