FORMAL CHANNEL COMMUNICATION -

It refers to the pattern of communication channels between group members or among positions in an organisation.

THESE ARE OF 4 TYPES -

1. Circle-

Here the message transmits in form of a circle .One person communicates to the adjacent two persons.It is unorganised ,noisy and slow .

2.Chain-

The message flows in the form of verticle line and passes through scalar chain .It is inflexible and one way direction.

3.Wheel -

It comprises of one superior at the centre of the organisation.No direct transmission of information.

4.Free flow/all channel-

It promotes unrestricted flow of information.It is highly satisfying and have no structure ,anyone can communicate to anyone easily.
