Barriers are any obstacles or difficulties that come in the way of communication.

It may be physical ,mechanical ,psychological,cultural or linguistic in nature.

1.PHYSICAL BARRIERS-

A.THE COMPETING STIMULUS -

example loud music,traffic noise etc.

B.ENVIRONMENTAL STTESS-

example a strong glare ,temperature and humidity .

C.SUBJECTIVE STRESS-

Sleeplessness,health ,effects of drugs etc.

D.IGNORANCE OF MEDIUM-

audio ,video,written,etc

 

2.PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS-

No two individuals possess exactly similar frames of reference ,even if they are identical twins.

 

3.LINGUISTICS AND CULTURAL BARRIERS-

When the same language is made use in a different culture it takes an another way ,or we can say another meaning.

 

4.MECHANICAL BARRIERS-

Absence of communicator facilities etc which interferes with the fidelity of physical transmission of messages.
