Why Buy Furniture When You Can Rent Them?

India is moving fast towards a metropolitan lifestyle, and prices are increasing accordingly. Nowadays, moving to a new city from time to time for better opportunities in a job, continuing your higher education, and living relationships are on the trend. For people who are into this lifestyle, long term investments on houses and furniture don’t really make sense.

Looking at these trends, new trends have popped up, such as renting furniture and rent-to-own furniture. As the name suggests, renting furniture is basically paying a monthly amount to the owner or an organisation that has given the furniture on lease. Likewise, rent-to-own furniture also includes paying a monthly amount, and this amount ultimately leads to the reduction of the selling price of the furniture in case the person making use of them wants to buy it in the near future. Under a rent-to-own agreement, both the parties agree to the possibility of buying/selling the house to the parties involved.

Now, a lot of people are hesitant to rent furniture thinking that it is useless, so they try sticking to the traditional methods (i.e. buying furniture) which involves spending a hefty sum of money without researching the benefits of renting the same thing. Let us look at the reasons why it’s better to rent than buy furniture.

First and foremost reason is it goes cheaper on the pockets of people who don’t wish to settle in one city. We all know that packing and moving from one city to another is a tedious job. It can burn a hole in people’s pockets, taking into consideration that it doesn’t cost any less than 30,000-40,000 rupees. By renting furniture, this hassle can be avoided when you have to move to a different place.

Renting furniture is convenient. You don’t have to take care of moving them to a different place with you. You can simply unsubscribe your package and rent new furniture when you shift. Some companies even provide free packing and moving of the furniture to a different place as a part of their package.

Do you like to stay trendy with the latest interior décor ideas? But is buying new furniture each time and discarding the old one a hassle for you or you can’t afford to buy new furniture each time you please? Then renting furniture is the best option for you and you should totally give it a try. It can help you at times when you plan to renovate your house, and your new wallpapers don’t match your sofa kit or dining table anymore. Renting furniture gives you the freedom choice. It lets you choose your desired model of furniture at low prices.

Are you one of those who have a hard time choosing what is best for them and their house? If yes, then renting is a much safer option than buying expensive furniture and later regretting it. Buying in such cases can be a huge loss because if you don’t like what you purchased and you decide to sell it, you don’t get the full amount at which you bought it. This creates a financial burden on you.  Renting furniture can be a good way of running practical experiments on what goes well with the vibe of your house, and whether what you bought is a comfortable choice for you. Rent-to-own would be a smart choice as well in case you like the product and decide to own it legally.

In cases where there is a rent-to-own agreement in working, the owner can be carefree about their furniture because the renter is invested in the product and would use it carefully. Likewise, the maintenance of the furniture can fall upon the shoulders of either party, which should be mentioned while making an agreement. It would be better if both the parties place their requirements on the table and come to a middle ground so that disputes over the assets can be avoided.

It is evident that renting furniture has the scope and is an emerging business which has guaranteed profit on both ends. This is also an environment-friendly initiative if instead of discarding your furniture; you give it away for rent. This is a baby step towards reducing your carbon footprint while also helping out someone to make their living space a homely place. After all, what can be better than looking after your own needs combined with profit, and doing your part towards saving the environment, especially at a time when the world is already in the middle of a climate crisis?

If these things are thought about in detail, you will realise that in today’s age and time, more and more people should adopt this lifestyle. People should do it not just because it is convenient and low in budget, but also because we need to preserve this environment for the well-being of our future generations.
