WHAT IS FASHION or BEING FASHIONABLE?

There has always been a lot of conjecture around this question although it sounds very basic. Be it the late 50's to '90s or in today's world, people are obsessed with fashion. The most pre-conceived notion about it is wearing clothes & accessories that are in trend. If someone thinks about this term "Trendy" as they call it, one must also gauge into who often sets it up. Who are these Fashion -police and how do they decide who to wear what. Is wearing everything Gucci to Prada or Sabyasachi to Manish Malhotra considered stylish. Well, to be honest, there is no particular answer to it. But , there is a common quality to all the accepted fashionistas from the yesteryears to till date. And that is being Un-conventional. Each individual has a different personality. Those who come out of their shell and let their personalities shine with their appearance will always be fashionable irrespective of the trends. Westerners are considered more fashionable to eastern countries for the longest time. Now, contrary to that, Hollywood finds it quite exotic to wear sarees, hijabs, kurtas, and many of the eastern jewelry. Even we became comfortable flaunting our ethnicity. This transformation took some time and also we see a lot of inter-mix of cultures. This brings me to this very millennial term " fusion-wear", a mix of indo-western feel to the attires, as far as our country is concerned. The so-called celebrities or upper-class societies take a lot of pressure to stay stylish and be validated for what they wear. So, this opened up a new job opportunity and made them hire "Stylists".These people decide what to wear from head to toe for who they work for. From collaborating with different brands to renting clothes, jewelry, shoes, accessories, and further hiring hair-dressers to make-up artists to put up the whole new look, these stylists manage it all. Sadly, even these guys are trolled sometimes for their work during experimenting with different looks.  One's opinion should not ever alter your decisions. Likewise, you should always wear things based purely on your instincts and always within your comfort levels. To sum it up all, I would say that "comfort and confidence are always in fashion".
