What is Business Writing?



Business writing is not a herculean task. It requires a few key points to be kept in mind while writing. First and foremost being, it should be precise and efficient. It should be persuasive according to the type of audience you’re writing for.


Here are a few questions you need to answer before you start writing:


· Can it gain credibility from your audience?


You should be able to make them believe your purpose. It should bring out the reality of your proposal.


· How important is your decision to the audience?


What impact does it have on your audience? You should be able to convince them with brief and casual points.


· Does it address the concerns of your audience?


It should lay emphasis on the positive points and pay attention to the needs and requirements of the audience.


There are letters, emails, memos, and reports which include formal writing. Formal writing does not involve the use of any fancy words. It is efficient, to the point, and non-redundant. The reports, appeals, and requests are exchange of information and are always straightforward and relevant. You don’t have to begin with a perfectly organized document but by doing revision you must reach there. To a clean, clear, well-structured document revision is the key.
