Ways to get up early in the morning



     Mornings are assuringly beneficial for a healthy mind and body. It inculcates numerous good habits in us that prove to be advantageous in the long run. But to be honest, instilling the habit of waking up early is a tedious task to do. Oversleeping is a kind of behemoth we can't resist. But this can't keep us away from nurturing a new habit that will keep us healthy and benefit us in all aspects. So, here are a few ways that might help you to give your habit of rising early a start.


1. Be determined : At the beginning, its not easy to change your sleep cycle if you are habitual to wake up late. Going to bed early at night in order to try to wake up early might help at the start. Remember, the biological cycle of sleep takes its time to change but till then you have to keep trying. Initially you are bound to feel drowsy, however, it might take a few days for the body to get acquainted with the new habit.


2. Placing the alarm clock : We as lazy people, tend to switch off the alarm clock multiple times before we actually wake up demanding extra minutes for sleeping. But if we really want a change for the good, we must cross out this habit. Place your alarm clock at such a place that it is loud enough to wake you up but far enough to make you get up from the bed to shut it off.


3. Don't consider any other option : Mind starts playing tricks with the brain as soon as you get up. Options like going back to bed, or just closing your eyes for a while or lazing on the sofa will pop up. But try to ignore these temptations and start off with your routine or tasks. Do something productive like exercising or preparing breakfast in order to channelize your mind and thoughts.


4. Afternoon nap : In the initial days of waking up early, feeling sleepy sometimes may happen. A 20-30 minutes of power nap will help to get refreshed and focused again.


5. Treat yourself : If you have accomplished your goal by waking up early or felt more positivity around yourself, its the time to give yourself a reward! A cup of coffee, favourite milkshake, few minutes of soulful meditation or whatever you love doing is a treat. This will inspire you to wake up early every day and bring in a sense of achievement and satisfaction.
