Random data is actually everything else. Random data has an internal structure but is not organized by predefined data models or by schema. It can be text or non-text, and man-made or machine. It can also be stored within non-relationship data such as NoSQL.
General unplanned personal data includes:
Text files: Word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, logs.
Email: Email has some internal structure because of its metadata, and we sometimes call it a less structured one. However, its message field is not built and traditional analytics tools cannot process it.
Social Media: Data from Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn.
Website: YouTube, Instagram, photo sharing sites.
Mobile data: Text messages, locations.
Communication: Chat, IM, phone recording, interactive software.
Media: MP3, digital photos, audio and video files.
Business applications: MS Office documents, production applications.
Typical randomly generated data includes:
Satellite imagery: Weather data, earth forms, military movements.
Scientific details: Oil and gas exploration, space exploration, seismic images, space data.
Digital rental: Viewing and video images.
Sensor data: Traffic, weather, oceanographic sensors.
