Three domains of life

Three  domain of life

Living organisms were divided into 2 kingdoms that is the animalia and the plantae .But due to huge variation in shape , genes, physiological characters ,etc. Organisms are currently divided into 5 kingdoms, these are protesta , fungi , plant, animalia and monera.

Three domain system

Carl Woese(1990),Give 3 domain system classification he divided various organisms into Archaea

Eukaryote

Bacteria.

The 3 domain system is loosely based on traditional 5 Kingdom system but divides the monera into 2 domains leaving the remaining eukaryotic Kingdom in the 3rd domain that is you eukaryotes.

Some basic description and characteristics of 3 domain are :

  • Domain Archaea

  • These are prokaryotic organisms with no nuclear membrane.

  • Have  evolutionary history one of the oldest species of organisms on the earth.

  • These are found in harsh moments on earth

  • These are biochemically and genetically different from bacteria

  • These are found in most extreme and moments on the planet.

  • Examples:

Methanogens ( methane makers )

hAlophiles ( salt lovers)

Thermoacidophiles ( temperature/ acid lovers)

  • Domain bacteria

These are prokaryotic traditionally cold bacteria with no nuclear membrane.

many are decomposers photosynthesises and few causes disease

these are also found to be pathogenic in nature.

examples are:

Cyanobacteria

Spirochaete

Firmicutes

  • Domain eukaryota

these are you carry eukaryotic organisms have nuclear membrane.

four Kingdom of eukaryotes are:

Protesta

Example, Rhodophyta -red algae, Chromalveolata

Fungi

Examples,saccharomycotina, Basidiomycota

Plantae

Examples,bryophytes ,Magnoliophyta

Animalia

Examples ,chordata ,Arthropod
