INTRODUCTION AND ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN:


Jantar Mantar consists of 13 architectural astronomy instrument, the sire is one of the five built by Maharaja Jai Singh II from Jaipur, from 1723 onwards revising the calendar and astronomical tables. There is a plaque fixed on one of the structures in the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi that was placed in 1910 mistakenly dating the construction of the complex to the year 1710. The latest study reveals the actual construction to be 1724 though. Its height is 723ft. 


PURPOSE:


The purpose of the observatory was to compile astronomical tables and to predict the time and movement of Sun, Moon and the Planets. Some of theses purpose is now called Astronomy. Completed in 1724, the Delhi Jantar Mantar has considerably decided by 1867. THE Ram Yantra, Samrat Yantra, the Jaya Prakash, and the Misra Yantra are the distinct instrument of Jantar Mantar.
