INTRODUCTION AND ARCHITECTURE:


The city palace was the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur. The palace was also the location for cultural and religious events, as well as patron of art, commerce, and industry. It now houses Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II museum and continues to be the home of Jaipur's royal family. The members of Jaipur's royal family are considered to be descendants of Lord Rama.


The palace complex has several buildings, various courtyard, galleries, restaurants, along with an office of museum trust. The palace is in the central north-eastern part of the Jaipur city, it is laid in a grid pattern with wide avenues, which is unique and an arresting complex of several courtyards, buildings, gardens, temples, pavilions, etc. The most prominent and the most visited structure in the complex are the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple, Mubarak Mahal, and the city palace museum.
