Status Of Online Education And Work From Home: Here To Stay?

With the global pandemic ' COVID-19' , the entire globe is facing a big blow on all the possible aspects of life. Threatening problems fused with multiple economic factors are surfacing right now. The entire globe has shut down, and all of us have been caged into the bounds of our homes by the strategic lockdown. Basic functionalities of life have been compromised with the initiation of new approach to jobs and academics. Work from home and Online education have made it’s way to the entire globe. And that puts a very important question on the table that, what is the future of these ' work from home' and ' online classes' in near future.

If we are to discuss what are the chances of online classes to stay and why, there are plenty of grounds where it scores over a regular face to face classroom. For the starters, Studying online gives one more flexibility. One can easily work and fit work schedule around coursework more easily. Even the scheduled classes gets easier with preplanned programs. Also, one can save ample amount of time and money by cutting off that transport and travel expenses. Adding more to that there is the benefit of verse number of subjects and topics that one can choose to learn, which might not be the case with an ' inperson classroom' where choices are usually very limited.

However, no matter how much one rambles on the goodness of online education, we definitely can’t deny that many in general might not be privileged enough to incorporate this change in the form of education. This might not seem like a big problem to the developed countries, but for the ones that are still a little low on the run, converting the entire academic system is going to be an extremely challenging task. Maybe subtle features like, online submission of assignments and mock tests can be introduced. But uprooting an entire structure at once might be the next thing to impossible.

Similarly, with the idea of 'work from home', people might thrive in their comfort zone, but most of the public service sectors around the globe needs person to person approach. And things like that are so hard to handle online. In no ways we should undermine the prospect of work from home in all job fields. It’s just that every job can’t be done at a homely ambience and every meetings can’t be attained in a pair of pajamas.

One needs to understand the balance that a society holds, the integrity of an institution and the importance of human interaction. Also, many people aren’t still accustomed to the workings and ways of internet. The developing and underdeveloped countries have masses who are still shadowed by illiteracy. Thus, in a minimal bottom line, even though both the aforementioned concepts have very bright prospects in future, can only be applied fully once the entire humanity reaches a certain progress bar; not before that.
