Qualitative analysis of extracted DNA and RNA by spectrophotometer

Qualitative analysis of extracted DNA and RNA by spectrophotometer.

Principle: this is an application of beer -lambert law which states that concentration of sample is directly proportional to the light absorbed by the sample. Nucleic acids DNA  and RNA are found inside the cell these are the heritable units.these are found in nucleus or free in cytoplasm of cell.

This spectrophotometer works on principles of beer lamberts law and helps to calculate the concentration of sample .

using spectrophotometer we can measure the concentration of nucleic acid . Nucleic acid have a peak of 1 OD at 260nm .

Results:we can calculate the OD AND concentration of our nucleic acid sample using this technique .

Pure DNA OD ~1.8pure RNA OD ~2
