Options For International Students After Graduation In Australia



Australia is the third most preferred english speaking country by the international students. The Australian lifestyle, the quality education provided by the country and the ease of getting Australian visa contribute to make it one of the most favourite choices of international students for pursuing graduation. Australian universities like the Australian National University, the University of Queensland, the University of Melbourne are among the top 50 universities of the world and attract students from across the globe. Even after getting admission in the top Australian universities, most of the international students face the dilemma regarding what they should do after they get their graduation degrees. 1. Opting for higher studies


Owing to the excellent education system of the Australian universities, most of the students like to stay back in Australia to pursue further studies after graduation. While some students choose to study at the same institution, others go to different institution or sometimes even move to new city to explore new ventures. 2. Working in Australia


After attaining the graduation degree many students stay back in Australia to gain professional working experiences. 3. Trying to get permanent residence


The foremost eligibility criteria to stay in Australia is that the student must have studied in Australia for a minimum duration of two academic years. However one must work on other factors as well to increase the chances of obtaining permanent residency in Australia. Having work experience in Australia or good IELTS score adds to the possibility of gaining permanent Australian residence. The result in the point test determine whether the student would get the permanent residence in Australia or not. 


4. Returning To Home Country


While most of the students prefer staying back in Australia even after the completion of their graduation courses to explore the diverse career options the country has to offer, there are a significant number of students who also choose to return to their home countries. While for some it could be theit financial conditions that compels them to return to their home countries, there are others who do not wish to live or work in Australia anymore and prefer returning to their home countries. The students need to settle any pending bills, cancel ongoing services such as electricity, bank accounts and sell large items that they cannot carry with them on their way back home.
