Every Coin has two sides. Similarly, Online exam also have to side good and bad .i.e. benefit and drawbacks. Initially, we discus about The Good side of online exams:

  1. During the time of Coronavirus Pandemic, Online exams might be the only way out to conduct the semester examination. UGC has also advised the Universities and Colleges to either mark students based on internal assessments or reduce the exam duration from three to two hours and also to conduct online examination.

  2. Staying at home and giving exams, does sound good. Also, students save the traveling time. As we all know that lockdown is the only way to tackle a pandemic.

  3. Use of unfair means is ethically wrong. However, it might turn out to be in favor of the students. We all know how.

The drawbacks are:

  1. The University lacks the experience to pull off the online examination.

  2. Issues such as lack of resources, internet connectivity, server load etc. might cause hindrance in the process.

Usually, the new academic sessions begins between July and August in universities and colleges. But this year, there is a huge uncertainty on that front in the wake of the pandemic.
