MICROBREWERY IN ASIAN COUNTRIES.



The previous two articles have discussed the emergence and establishment of culture of microbreweries in India. The articles also discussed the origin of this culture in western states. Now the following article will deal with the increase in the number of breweries in Asian countries, with special reference to countries like China, India, Japan, and Thailand.


1. CHINA.


China was the world's largest consumer of beer in the year 2013. Its general consumption reaches 50 million in early 2013 and an increasing interest in craft beer developed accordingly. It's largest brewpub is located Suzhou and is manages by a Taiwanese brewing company.  While craft beer consumers are both expats and native Chinese. 


2. INDIA.


India's first microbrewery was opened in 2009 in the city of Pune. The interest in western culture has vastly increased now. Lots of states have started serving craft beer. Gurgaon has major number of brewery in India according to the 2017 survey.


3. JAPAN.


An early boom in a small region, microbreweries followed Japan in 1994, allowing the production of smaller microbreweries of 600 liters. The craft beers produced during the 1990's was commonly referred to as Ji Biru. Later the name of craft beer was adapted.


4. THAILAND. 


Following the introduction of American microbrewery in 2012, the popularity of craft beer in Thailand especially in Bnagkokincreased rapidly in the year 2014. The fourth location of Danish microbrewery was launched in Bangkok and hopefully will increase in Southeast Asia as well.
