LUTYEN'S DELHI.

Lutyen's Delhi is the region in the capital of the nation named after the famous British architect Sir Lutyen (1869-1944). He is mostly responsible for the construction of modern masterpieces, designs, and buildings during the period of the British Raj in the 1920s,  the1930s and the 1940s respectively. Main cities that Lutyen constructions exist include New Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Calcutta, etc.

FAMOUS BUILDINGS.

NEW DELHI: Lutyen constructed four bungalows in Rashtrapati Bhawan estate (viceroy house estate), these houses are now in the Mother Teresa Crescent. Apart from viceroy's house he also designed a large government building and was majorly involved in town planning.

Indis Gate also happens to be one of the buildings constructed in Rajpath, New Delhi by Sir Lutyen. This beautiful building is originally known as All India war memorial located astride the Rajpath. It is basically a memorial for 70,000 of the British Indian army who died and sacrificed their lives in the first world war during 1914-1921.

Another very famous building in the Rajpath constructed under Sir Lutyen is The Parliament house. It was originally built as part of Britishers wider mandate to establish a new administrative capital for Colonial India. The construction of Parliament house started in the year 1921 and was not completed until before 1927. A museum was opened which stands next to the Library of the Parliament house in 2006.

OTHER FAMOUS BRITISH ARCHITECT.

Sir Herbert Baker was also one of the very famous British architects who got constructed several other buildings in the Rajpath region of New Delhi. His famous work includes the Secretariat building, for high ranking officials.

Rober Tor Russell was the man behind the establishment of the very famous Connaught place, and other than that he got built Teen Murti house, Safdarganj Airport, National Stadion, and several other government buildings.

Other famous architect included Arthur Gorden, Walter skyes Gorge, Henry Med, CC Blomfield.

MATERIAL USED.

It s quite well noticed that the material used in the construction of the Lutyen's Delhi is the red sandstone that was being imported from outside the country. This is one of the reasons that most of these buildings are of red and cream color.
