IPU Exam 2020

On Tuesday 9 June 2020, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has recently made an announcement regarding the conduction of end-term examinations this year. GGSIPU has announced that end term exams will only be held for final semester students in offline mode while students from intermediate semesters will be passed on the bases of previous semester’s marks and internal assessment.

As per the official notice released by GGSIPU, no end term examinations will be held for students in intermediate semesters i.e. first and second year students. The official notice released by GGSIPU “The students would be promoted to the next semester on the basis of composite 50% weightage to marks in the previous semester/year only and 50% weightage to marks in the internal assessment of current semester in each subject.”

As per the notice, the conduct of Pen and Paper exams will be held for final year/semester only which can be reviewed/amended in view of the prevailing guidelines of the Government.

GGSIPU released a set of proper guidelines for the even final semester/the year of 2019-20. The guidelines are as follows:

   The duration for all the physical end term exams would be two hours.

  Holding theory exams first and labs afterwards. Lab exams to be conducted online if a physical lab exam is not feasible.

  Exams shall be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays also if required.

  Holding two exams per day to minimise the visit of the students, if required.

  
  


• 
  

  Each exam has 8 questions covering the full course and 3 questions to attempt.

  The viva voce of projects/dissertation/thesis to be undertaken online if required.

  
  


• 
  

  As far as possible, the exam centre will be the college where the student is registered.

  The norms of social distancing, masks, sanitization to be enforced by all colleges/centres in the conduct of exams.
