INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY



       Do you know when the yoga started from where is the history behind it ? Why International Yoga Day is celebrated on 21 June ? Yoga removes all kinds of diseases and disorders associated with body and mind . It makes a person's life easier . It is an easy tool for all kinds of human correction. Yoga has contained the full essence of lifestyle. It would not be wrong to say that Yoga is an ancient physical , mental and spiritual practice. Which gives people peace , confidence and courage . Through which they can do activities in a better way. Yoga is prevalent in various forms across the world. Firstly , it seen when International Yoga Day is celebrated ?


       INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY is celebrated every year on 21 June to spread awareness about the Importance and impact of Yoga on the health of people. It was first celebrated on 21 June 2015 in India. It is also known as WORLD YOGA DAY . Yoga is a mental , physical and spiritual practice which energies our body and mind it is believed that Yoga has been practice in India since more than 5000 years. 


HISTORY OF YOGA : The word Yoga is derived from Sanskrit , it means to join or to gather. It was initiated by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in his speech in the United Nations General Assembly on 27th December 2014. And for this reason , 21 June was declared as INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY. The proposal to celebrate International Yoga day on 21 June by 193 members in the United Nation General Assembly , Narendra Modi said that yoga is an invaluable gift of the ancient tradition of India. It symbolizes Unity of Mind and Body. Thoughts and actions are restraint and fulfillment ;  Harmony between man and nation ; leads to overall vision for health and well being. It is not about practice but to find a dense of unity with the world and nation on its own.


FROM WHERE YOGA STARTED : Yoga has been considered in India since prevedic period , it has been a part of the lifestyle of Indians for thousand of years. Yoga is an important part of indian culture and civilization which has both intellectual elements and spiritual virtue of humanity. This knowledge is an ideal mixture of Karma and devotion. Maharishi Patanjali's contribution to India is significant , he has arranged the Yoga postures in the Yoga sutras.


WHY 21 JUNE IS CHOSEN AS INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY : 21 June has been chosen to pay homage to the  Satguru. On this day , the summer solstice is when the sun starts moving from North to south from the point of view of the earth from the perspective of yoga , this time is the transition period i.e better time for conversion. That is why 21 June has been chosen as International Yoga Day.


OBJECTIVES OF YOGA : 


1. Making people aware of the benefits of Yoga and connection them with nature.


2. To reduce the health challenge actors the world.


3. To spreading growth , development and peace throughout the world .


4. Making people aware of physical and mental illnesses and finding solution through Yoga.
