Impressing the Audience by Performing



               Whatever you perform, it should impress the audience as spoken words are like a circle drawn in water. Research shows consistently that nearly half of that people hear is forgotten within hours. So, the performer needs to clothe the ideas in visuals so that in the listener’s mind it should be remembered for a long time. You need to make them graphic.


               You have to be prepared before presenting yourself in front of the audience. You should be able to express your ideas clearly and in a well-organized way. Along with computer literacy, one should be inviting, engaging, and informative.


The following are the points to impress the audience:



  1. To influence important decisions.

  2. To attract media and public attention.

  3. To establish an image.

  4. To explain the importance of organizational change.

  5. To present findings before a committee.

  6. To give the audience what they believe they want.

  7. The general understanding is desired by the audience.

  8. The expectation of the audience to the speaker is to complete details about the topic properly and thoroughly.

  9. Not only the content of the speech but also the duration, tone, and expectations of your audience.

  10. See the expectation of the superior if they are sitting for your speech.

  11. See the aims knowledge and attitudes of your audience which would greatly help you.

  12. Being your preparation by considering the positions/ranks/designation of the members of the audience.

  13. Your audience may have its idiosyncrasies. Some may insist on a formal presentation while others on a casual one. Some appreciate humor. Some also prefer electronic presentation.

  14. The points which you give in your presentation have to be shaped according to the sensitivities of the audience.

  15. Keep in mind whether the audience is friendly or hostile towards you and how they feel about the topic.
