How to keep your heart healthy



A healthy heart is a healthy mind. Keeping one's heart healthy not only ensures less heart disease's , but also ensures a healthy lifestyle. A few easy things that can be done on a daily basis to keep your heart healthy are:


- Exercise daily: A 30 minutes of exercise a day done in any form like brisk walking, running, gym, dancing helps.


- Proper sleep: About 6 to 8 hours of sleep in a day is a must.


- Quit smoking.


- Reduce alcohol consumption.


- Eat healthy: Avoid oily food and food with trans-fat. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables instead.


- Maintain good dental health: Brushing and flossing everyday is a must. Gum diseases are known to increase heart problems.


- Keep record of family history: If your immediate family has a history of heart problems, chances are that you too may be prone to heart disease's. In such a case go for periodic check ups to your doctor , and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
