GATE is the most prestigious examination for Bachelor's Degree students. As the name suggests GATE is the examination that acts as the entry point for higher education. As per the latest circular received from the IIT DELHI regarding the GATE exam 2020, there are 25 papers in total. This year the paper for Biomedical Engineering is added to the GATE.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • There is no limit for the age to take this particular exam.




 




  • Also, the pre-final year candidates are not eligible to take part in the examination.








GATE Exam Fees:


 


The IISC and the IITs are collecting some minimal amount as part of application fees. So the fee structure for the GATE examination is as follows:


 




  • For the female candidates, the fee is Rs 750 before the due date and if they try to apply after the due date then the fee is Rs 1250.




  • For SC/ST/PwD category students the payment amount is Rs 750 before the due date and after the due date, it is Rs 1250.




  • Next coming to all other categories students the fee is Rs 1500. After the due date, the fee amount enhances to Rs.2000.




 


Also, there are various examination centers outside India. The fee structure is a bit different when it comes to the exam centers outside India.


 




  • For places like Adis, Ababa, Colombo, Dhaka,  and Kathmandu the fee is USD 50 before the due date, and after the due date completed then the amount adds up to USD 70. 




 




  • Places like Dubai and Singapore if taken into consideration then the candidates need to pay almost USD 100 before the due date. Also, they can pay USD 120 in the extended time period.
