Diabetes is a chronic but manageable condition in which the body struggles to control the levels of blood sugar.


Improper functions of pancreas causes deficiency in production of insulin hormones and in such case patients are needed to be treated with artificial insulin injection in abdominal portion or at hand or leg parts .


Many myths are being spread that diabetes patients should not consume fruits because it have sugar contents in them . But doing so is harming them and reducing their immunity system . Is fruit dangerous for people with diabetes? This article will suggest fruits to eat and avoid if you have diabetes, as well as examining the relationship between fruit and blood sugar.


There are no such boundaries to avoid eating fruits, infact it’s adviced by doctors to have more fruits than grains or cereals .


But they are advised to have less amount of fruits at a time . A diabetic patient is advised to have half of an apple in a day to balance the sugar level in blood. Such planning has been made for different diseases and different patients because some of the people are found with some allergy diseases from some fruits such us citrus fruits cause harm to some and to some it improve digestive system . 


Mostly it’s advised to have fruits by mouth in place of taking juice . Consuming fruits juice can raise sugar in blood but taking fruits will not do so and will even enhance our immune system.


The National Institute of Diabetic and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) recommends that people with diabetes should avoid fruit juices or canned fruits with added sugar.


Fruit blends like smoothies also have high sugar content and are more rapidly absorbed leading to higher spikes in blood sugar.


Some fruits which are advised by doctors are : 



  • Orange, grapefruit, other citrus.

  • Green apple, carrot.

  • Beet, carrot, ginger, apple.

  • Tomato.

  • Kale, tomato, celery.

  • Strawberry and kiwi.

  • Cucumber 

  • Karela (juice ) 


Few fruits such as: 



  • Mango 

  • Banana 

  • Watermelon, etc 


Are advised to be consumed less because these have high carbohydrates and sugar which can increase sugar level are disturbed sugar levels . 


Fruits should be added in diet because these are the sources of all energy and immunity for our body .our body constantly get essential nutrients from fruits directly and protect us from many of the lethal diseases.
