  • Bhullar’s plea for death commutation to life term was dismissed by Supreme Court of India on 12 April 2013.

  • Electronics Project Proposal System (e-PPS) was launched by Kapil Sibal. This system would ease the process of funding the R&D projects.

  • President’s Rule was imposed on Jharkhand  after the Union Cabinet approved its imposition.

  • The International Monetary Fund announced that it recognised Somalia’s new government after a 22-year gap in relations with the country.

  • Manmohan Singh visited Germany from 10 April 2013 to 12 April 2013 for participating in second round of Inter Governmental Consultations with Germany.

  • Agreement for Regulation defining the structure, functions and procedure of the Joint Commission signed between Russia and India in Moscow on 10 April 2013.

  • A German shipyard on 5 April 2013 launched Azzam, the world’s largest private yacht, overshadowing the previous record holder Eclipse.

  • India and Singapore  signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral air services arrangement.

  • Iran, North Korea and Syria have blocked the adoption of a UN arms trade treaty which is supposed to regulate the 70-billion dollars conventional arms trade around the world.

  • Hockey India  named South African Gregg Clark as the chief coach of the junior men’s national team.

  • Indian women won the Bangladesh Women Tour to India 2012/13 ODI cricket series against Bangladesh Women by 3-0.

  • National Rifle Association of India elected Raninder Singh as President and D.V.S. Rao as the new Secretary General.

  • World Number one Novak Djokovic  won the ATP Dubai Open Tennis title 2013.

  • The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group was conferred with the National Award for Excellence in Hospitality Education 2011-12 .

  • Rajasthani author Hariram Meena was selected for the Bihari Puraskar for 2012 for Hindi novel Dhooni Tape Teer. The novel was published in 2008.
