COVID-19: Losing Health faster than Time

I am sure no one ever wondered how an animal feel when they are brutally put in cages and are not allowed to roam freely, how birds feel when they were put in confinement for our recreational purposes. Due to human interference nature's cycle has been disrupt rising earth's temperature (global warming), melting polar caps, increasing air pollution and what not. But nature has a way of giving it back like Karma. Now we are been put in our home and not allowed to go anywhere due to ongoing pandemic called Corona virus.

It is an infectious disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) . The first case of COVID-19 patient was reported in December 2019 at Wuhan (China) and then it has spread worldwide to become a pandemic, with maximum death cases in Italy, though initially the maximum mortality was reported from China.

People from every country has been affected by this virus resulting in many deaths. Starting from China it kept spreading to many countries and now the whole world is affected by it.

The novel coronavirus has four stages of transmission —

Stage 1 is the first appearance of the disease through people with a travel history, and no local spread from those affected. The number of those infected would be quite low at this stage.

Stage 2 is local transmission, when those who were infected and have a travel history spread the virus to close friends or family. At this stage, every person who came in contact with the infected can be traced and isolated.

Stage 3 is community transmission, when infections happen in public and a source for the virus cannot be traced. At this stage, large geographical lockdowns become important as random members of the community start developing the disease.

Stage 4 is when the disease actually becomes an epidemic in a country, such as it was in China, with large numbers of infections and a growing number of deaths with no end in sight. It is then considered to be endemic or now prevalent in the region.

One of the most recent community events through which transmission took place in INDIA was the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi, which deliberately increased Coronavirus patients in India.Authorities continue to aggressively trace everyone who attended the event or came in contact with attendees.

Government has taken measures like imposing section 144 which do not allow group of 5 people to gather at a place and later complete lock down was announced sealing all the state borders. This disease spreads by droplets, which pass from person to person or person to surface when an infected person coughs or sneezes or even laughs.

As compared to other country India took it quite seriously and took necessary step that is the reason the situation is quite under control unlike other countries like U.S, Italy, Brazil etc.

Necessary precautions can be taken which are advised by WHO, there are :

1.Wash your hands frequently

2. Maintain social distancing of atleast 1metre.

3. Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth

4. Practice respiratory hygiene

5.If you have fever, cough and difficulty inbreathing, seek medical care as soon as possible.

6.Stay informed and follow advice given by your healthcare provider

Lets take out a minute to salute the indomitable courage shown by our doctors, nurses, midwives and police officers at the forefront of COVID-19 response, providing treatment and attention by risking their lives.

WHO dedicated this year to doctors and nurses and named it "INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE NURSES AND MIDWIVES"

A small contribution i.e. staying home is all these people wanted so that this difficult time will over be soon and life will come back to normal the wat ut was.
