Did you ever imagine a virus even smaller than a zillionth part of your body will lock you down and force you to work from home? COVID 19 came out of blue and  pushed the envelope for Work From Home. Post-pandemic, Work from home will be the new normal. We will have to break with tradition of working from office with the uprising rays of new gauge. Social distancing will now be a new norm. Getting ready for office, rushing to catch metro and reaching office early in the morning for meetings might be limited to a few people post-pandemic. Businesses will have to be ripe for work environment, employees- employers will have to screw up the courage and push all distractions, loneliness’ away. 

Work from home is like double-edged sword, it has both favourable and unfavourable consequences. Flexibility, productivity may increase at home for many but many will suffer from loneliness, distractions, unstructured work area and many more hindrances. Everybody will have to create a dedicated workspace as a solution for all hindrances; managers will have to instill the seeds of motivation time to time to their subordinates so that they can be prevented from psychological sufferings. Constant motivation by the managers to their employees is the need of the hour. Virtual Coffee breaks, chats can be scheduled round the clock  for employees. Apart from motivating colleagues it is their job to communicate with clarity and no confusions roll out, as communication is instrumental forever and ever, whether it is work from home or work form office. At the same time, we will have to learn trusting and understanding work ethics with fellow workers. Working from home tasks must follow 4 R: at right time, right work, right quality, right quantity for the efficient work, maximized productivity, noteworthy excellence of the work.

At the same time, we cannot freeze out the fact that Human is a Social Animal and we crave for physical contact to learn, to grow and to create a company culture. Virtual world has thrived due to certain barriers and it will baffle the growth of certain industries. Every problem cries for a solution, let us see what will be the solution work from home or work from office?
