Climate Change

In today’s world, climate change is a global challenge that has no borders. It requires coordinated and organized work by individuals present in every corner of the world. The effects of such horrendous changes in climate can evidently be seen. With the constant increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, acidification of oceans has been reported. Various reports by NASA predicts a tremendous rise in sea level, which has been estimated to be doubled over less than a decade. The average temperature of the earth has risen leading to shrinkage of the snow covers. Penguins living in the Atlantics are migrating in search of habitats and are ending up dying due to unsuitable environments. Similarly, hundreds of reindeers starve to death on the Arctic Islands due to climate change. Such climate change affects every living creature on earth. Habitats of various other creatures are facing threats. So many birds and creatures are vulnerable to extinction in the existing circumstances. The reason for us feeling roasted under the scorching hot sun is also climate change. Monsoons are delayed in every part of this planet, sometimes resulting in drought in certain areas. At this pace of declining changes in the environment, where the rate of planting trees and sowing seeds must triple, people are destroying trees to build multi-storey buildings. Climate change can never be entirely avoided or halted. The least one can do in today’s scenario, is to mitigate its effects and adapt to its consequences. We can fight it through the application of small as well as large scale measures. It is the responsibility of each and every individual to protect the earth for the future generations to come.
