BEWARE of the Hackers and Phishing.

Phishing is a danger to one's security. Hackers create the similar pages like the brands you use, send their links by mails or messages, and you enter the information regardless of thinking why you received such a link. This way hackers retrieve your account information.
Then may install malicious software in your sytems to continue using your account, without letting you know that somebody else also has the access or may also create new credentials to prevent the system recovery.

Text messages or emails can be a pathway to the cybercrimes. Most of the attacks are a great success, due to the lack of knowledge of phishing among users. Some ways to prevent cyber crimes are:

Use of Public Domains
Organizations own their domains in the name of their companies and do not send mails using public domains, like xyz@gmail.com. So we should keep a check and if such mails are in our inbox, it can be verified whether mail is legal or not.

Spelling Mistakes
Major brands don't make the spelling errors. And such mails may generally contain typographical errors. So, spell check can be an easy way to detect phishing mails.

Fake Display Names
Spammers create fake email, with a display name of Google, which misguides the users and lets them use the links without forcing them to think.

Misspelled Domain Names
We have all heardabout copyrights, and one can claim an amount if copyright is exploited. Also, there are some companies that make some spelling errrors to mislead the customers. Everything else remains the same. The users don't much focus on the spellings and as the environment is same, the spellings are ignored.
It can also be said that it's the human tendency to read the words correctly even they are misspelled.

Think about the Urgent Emails
Brands will not sound urgent otherwise they will fail. They do not implement policies that will leave any of their customer deprived.

Unsigned mails
Generally, the organizations add their name and contacts, social media handles in signatures, so they can be checked in spam mails. Beware of such mails.

Use of anti-Phishing Browsers
The browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox tell about the phishing links beforehand, so they should be preferred rather than some local browsers.

Don't download Attachments without verification
If the attachments are suspected, firstly the emails should be verified, whether they are legally sent or some phishing mails. Then only one should go for attachments.

The last of all, one should have a brief knowledge about phishing attacks, so as to survive in the world of cybercrimes.
