BAGGAGE LOSS ISSUE IN INDIAN CIVIL AVIATION

Air transport in India is getting cheaper each year but that does not say that the services of airlines can be compromised. Baggage loss is a major issue that is faced by the air travelers in India, at the same time it’s an untold, unaware issue. Airlines in India are giving better hospitality to their customers, but they are not providing valuable services that satisfy the needs of customers. They are not able to ensure the safety of the baggage that’s been dropped at the time of check-in, at the same time they are able to provide insurance for the baggage rather than reducing the issues. Due to the mishandling of baggage the customers are facing severe problems that are unknown to the public. Either the customer has to wait for their baggage or they have to forget their baggage. Airline companies in India disregard these issues as they think their main responsibility is to take the passengers to the expected destinations. The travelers are only able to register their complaints regarding their baggage lost or they can claim insurance for the same. They are not provided with the right to know about what happened with their luggage. In some situations even if the passenger gets his luggage back, it will be fully or partially damaged. Failing to take action against these irresponsibilities is making a path for the airlines to ignore these issues and moving forward in their own way. The situation of baggage loss arises when the baggage has to be transferred from one aircraft to another. Direct flight between two destinations for domestic flights are expensive which compel the passengers to choose connection flights.
