Prabhu Deva is a popular dancer, choreographer and actor. Considered to be the Michael Jackson of India, he is perhaps the most accomplished and famous professional dancer of the Indian sub-continent. Though mainly involved with South Indian cinema, he has also worked in Bollywood films like Lakshya and Pukar.
Prabhu Deva started his career by learning traditional Indian dances like Bharatnatyam along with western dance styles. From here, he went on to get much appreciation for his work in the Tamil film industry. He made his debut as a choreographer with Vetri Vizha. Since then he has choreographer for over hundred films. He made his acting debut in 1994 with Kadhalan. Other than this, Prabhu Deva has done guest dance appearances alongside some of the most famous actors and actresses of the Indian film industry.
Prabhu Deva is a recipient of two National Film Awards, two Filmfare Award and two Star Screen Awards. He received all these awards in the Best Choreography category.
