Robert Cecil Romer Maugham (popularly called Robin Maugham), 2nd Viscount Maugham was born on May 17 in 1916 to Frederic Maugham, 1st Viscount Maugham and Helen Romer. Frederic Maugham was a British lawyer and judge. The famous author Somerset Maugham was Robin Maugham’s uncle. He had three sisters: Kate, Honor, and Dianna Marr Johnson. He was buried at Hartfield in Sussex. He is known for his novels, plays, and travel writings.

Maugham wrote the Joyita Mystery. He also authored Escape from the Shadows, Search for Nirvana (a sequel to the previous book and on Gerald Hamilton, The Servant, Line on Ginger, The Rough and the Smooth, Behind the Mirror, The Man With Two Shadows, November Reef, The Green Shade, The Second Window, The Link; a Victorian Mystery, The Wrong People, The Last Encounter, The Barrier, The Black Tent and other Stories, The Sign, Knock on Teak, Lovers in Exile, The Dividing Line, The Corridor, Refuge, and The Deserters.
