Sushmita Sen Biography of Sushmita Sen : Sushmita Sen is a famous Indian actress who has appeared mostly in Bollywood films and a few Tamil films. She is also a former Miss Universe and a model. Sushmita's glamour career started at the age of eighteen when she won the Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant defeating the well established model, Aishwarya Rai. From here she went on to represent India at the Miss Universe beauty pageant and became the first Indian ever to win this title After serving the Miss Universe title in 1995, Sushmita Sen made her entry into Bollywood as an actress. She made her acting debut with Dastak in 1996. After this came her Tamil film Ratchagan which went on to become a huge hit. David Dhawan's Biwi No. 1 won her first Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Role. Later, her performance in Sirf Tum got her nominated for the same category again. Her performances in Aankhen, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and Main Hoon Na got her much critical appreciation. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Award for her achievement in Cinema in 2006. She made headlines when she decided to adopt a child as an unmarried female. She fought for her rights and emerged victorious. She named her daughter Renee.
