Rajeev Chamba, the singer from a remote village near Chamba, Himachal Pradesh was among the lucky few to have got selected for Saregamapa Challenge 2005 in the Delhi Auditions. There has been no looking back ever since. Rajeev reached the top 10 of Saregamapa Challenge 2005 and was always appreciated for his singing by the judges and guests on the show.

He was later seen on Saragamapa Ek Mai Aur Ek Tu where he was among the top 3 jodis. The Rajeev- Sanchali duo managed to stay on top three – 8 out of 11 times. His elimination came as a shock to everyone, brought tears to the judges eyes as well.

Rajeev last appeared on NDTV Imagine’s Junoon, where he represented the Folk Gharana and showed his abilities in singing Folk songs.

But going back on time, where did all this start from? Rajeev was first appreciated at the age of 4 when he stood first in singing competition in his school. Music came to him naturally. He then managed to bad prises every year until college. He stood first in Inter College Ghazal Competition in Himachal Pradesh State Level singing which made him realise this was what he will do. Music has always been Rajeev’s first priority in life and his obsession. He has chosen music as a subject in college while his was doing his Bachelor of Arts.
 
Rajeev got a big break by music director Aadesh Srivastava while he was in Saregamapa Chellenge 2005 itself. He sang the background score for the movie Chingaari. Rajeev also sang the song “Sada Chiriya” in the movie “Mummyji”. Rajeev has sung the background scores for various daily soaps on Star Plus and Zee Tv.
   
He has performed overseas at places like Canada, America (with Aadesh Srivastav), Hong Kong, Israel, Mauritius and there are many more shows in the pipeline.

In India he has done several shows in places like Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Chamba, Pune, Bangalore, Cochin, Jammu etc.

Rajeev believes music is what he is here for and he will work towards it all his life. He is looking for that perfect break in a movie that will change his life. He wants to serve to the World through his music and entertain people all his life.

Rajeev has come a long way from being just a small village boy but he believes he has a long way to go and this is not enough. He has high spirits and enthusiasm towards music and wishes to reach the heights and carve a niche for himself.
