Pradip Somasundaran became a household name in 1996 with “Meri awaaz suno” considered to be the first National level music reality show in India.In this music talent show hosted on Doordarshan, and jointly produced by Lata Mangeshkar, Yash Chopra’s Metavision and Doordarshan, he won the prestigious “Lata Mangeshkar Trophy” for the best male singer in the Mega Final’s.
As a multifaceted singer with a strong base in classical music he is at ease with all genres of songs including melodies, classical, foot tapping numbers and ghazals. He also has the uncanny ability to modulate his voice according to the mood and need of the song and sings in most of the Indian languages.
