Madhuparna has honed her musical skills with many years of dedicated training and live performances in India and abroad. A Hindustani Classical trained performer who excels in Semi Classical and Ghazal genre, Madhuparna has been performing from the age of 6 yrs. She has been trained in Ghazal by Ustad Mohan Khan who is a disciple of Ghazal Maestro Ustad Mehendi Hassan Khan. She has done several semi classical and ghazal shows in India and the UK including some on TV.
Belonging to the Kirana Gharana, Madhuparna was featured by Pancham Nishad as a rising star of Hindustani Classical Music through ‘Aarohi 2009’ on 1st May 2009, at Y.B. Chavan Auditorium, Mumbai. Her performance here was highly appreciated by the organisers and the audience alike.
With her unique style, has the capability to connect with listeners cutting across ages. A fact amply proved by her two released albums in which she has successfully bridged the divide between classical music, popular music and new age music. She has performed in a new age album “Indian Secrets” in 2006, which was released worldwide, and was a success in that genre. She has also composed and sung a song in album “Sar Utha Ke Jiyo”, released by Universal Music in Nov 2008.
