Geeta Dutt Biography of Geeta Dutt : Geeta Dutt was an Indian playback singer who was at her peak in the 1950s and 60s. Her talent was accidentally discovered by musician, Hanuman Prasad. She began with singing two lines for Bhakt Prahlad. These lines got Geeta her first major assignment as a playback singer in Do Bhai. Her rendering in this music placed her amongst the top playback singers of the time. She started off as a bhajan and sad song singer but later mastered the art of singing jazzy numbers after meeting S.D. Burman. During her career, she sang for several composers. Most prominent ones being Hemant Kumar, Hansraj Behl and Madan Mohan. Apart from singing more than 1200 songs in Hindi, she has also sung many songs in regional languages like Punjabi, Marathi, Bengali, Nepali, Maithili and Bhojpuri. Some of her most famous tracks are Mera Sunder Sapna Beet Gaya, Aan Milo Aan Milo, Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo and Piya Aise Jiya Mein Samaye Gayo Re.
