Vibha Batra Biography and latest books by Vibha Batra

Vibha Batra  is a copywriter by profession and fiction writer by passion. After receiving
her Masters degree in Communication from the University of Madras, she began a career in advertising. One that saw her work in some of the leading ad agencies in the country: Enterprise Nexus, JWT, Grey, TBWA Anthem, VGC, to name a few. Over the years she worked on popular brands such as The Times of India Group, Lee, Aditya Birla Group, EID Parry, GRT Jewellery, Cavin Kare Group, and many more.

Her literary pursuits took off when she translated her grandfather Late Shri Vishnu Kant Shastri’s book on the Ishaavaasya Upanishad. It was published by Rupa and Co in 2007 and well received by the literary world.

She was encouraged to write more. A collection of satirical poetry titled Tongue-in-Cheek soon followed. It was published by Kolkata based Writers Workshop. Then came a collection of short stories called A Twist of Lime published by Think Big Books.
She has written a great deal since then. Her work has been anthologised in Vanilla Desires, Just Plain Bad Luck, Ripples, Indian Voices, Happy Birthday To Me, and the Chicken Soup series. She also contributes to several magazines and her short fiction and poetry has appeared in Dignity Dialogue, Taxi, Shopper’s Link, Kritya, Muse, Jaalmag, and LongStoryShort.

She is also the recipient of many awards. In the last few months, she won two: ‘Remix,
Retell and Rejoice with Chuskit’ Contest held by Pratham Books and Conde Nast Traveller’s Contest.
