Jillian Becker is a British writer, lecturer, researcher, journalist and an expert on terrorism. She has authored Giving Up: The last days of Sylvia Plath, No Ordinary Woman – Dr Thelma Gutsche, Hitler’s Children: The Story of the Baader-Meinhof Terrorist Gang, THE P.L.O: The rise and fall of the Palestine liberation organization and The Red Army Faction: Another Final Battle on the Stage of History in the non-fiction genre. She has also written The Keep, A Cry in the Daytime, The Virgins and The Union among others.

Becker was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her father was a surgeon and politician who had co-founded the anti-apartheid Progressive Party (South Africa). She attended the University of Witwatersrand and graduated from there. She currently lives in California and she is on the advisory board of the Institute for Middle Eastern Democracy.
