Dr. Muhammad Khan popularly known as Jameel Jalibi was born on June 12, 1929 in a Yousuf-Zai family of Aligarh, UP. He completed his early education in Aligarh and later did his matriculation from Saharanpur to pursue his intermediate and graduation studies from the Meerut College. After partition of India in 1947, Jalibi migrated to Pakistan where he continued his education and literary activities. Along with his literary and research activity, Jameel Jalibi also edited the literary magazine Naya Daur founded in 1955 which later became literary periodicals of its time. Some of his major publications include Pakistani Culture, Tanqeed aur Tajarba, Nai Tanqeed; Adab, Culture aur Masa\'el, Muhammad Taqi Meer; Maasir-e-Adab, Quami Zaban, Yak-Jehti Nafaz aur Masa\'el Masnavi Kadam Rao aur Pidam Rao, Diwan-e-Hasan Shauqi, Farhang-e-Istalahaat,Qadeem Urdu Lughat and Tareeq-e-Urdu Adab.
