Faiz Ahmad Faiz was born on February 13, 1911 in a small village of Kala Kader located near Sialkot, Lahore. He is a known as a revolutionary poet, and one of the most famous poets of the Urdu language. He attended the Scotch Mission School managed to join Murray College at Lahore for intermediate study and graduation. In 1926, Faiz enrolled in the Department of Languages and Fine Arts of the Government College University (GCU). His first book "Naqsh-e-Faryadi"(1947) won him great popularity. During his life time, Faiz published eight books and was acclaimed for his unique writing style. Fair was also a humanist and lyrical poet popular in India and Soviet Union. His major literary work includes Naqsh-e-Faryadi (1943), Dast-e-Saba (1952), Zindan-Nama (1956), Dast-e-Tah-e-Sung (1965), Mere Dil Mere Musafir and Sar-e-Wadi-e-Sina, all compiled together in a book called Nuskha Haa-e-Wafa.
