Chitralekha Paul is the wife of an ex-Air Force officer. Delayed Monsoon is her first novel, where she explores complex family relationships in this day and age. She holds a post graduation in Philosophy and LLB from Calcutta University. She has also done a B.Ed. degree and has the experience of teaching in various schools before taking up law as a profession. A member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, she is currently practising in Delhi. Chitralekha Paul is also undergoing training on mediation, conducted by Delhi High Court.
Chitralekha said in an interview that nothing catches her interest more than humour and a good “aadda” (intellectual exchange among like-minded people) with her college friends Mithu and Devi or her younger sister. Along with this she thoroughly enjoys the company of a good book.Chitralekha’s favourite novels are Pather Panchali, Malgudi days, Roots, Autobiography of a Yogi and A Thousand Splendid Suns.
