Bushra Farrukh was born on February 16, 1957 in Peshawar, Pakistan. She is a known Urdu poet who also has worked as an announcer for the Pakistan Television and Radio Pakistan. Bushra is considered an artist from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa who has performed in four different languages— Urdu, Pashto, Hindko and English on the Radio and TV. She has worked as a drama artist for 35 years. Bushra is also a well-known poetess and three of her published poetry collections include Bohat Gehri Udasi Hai ( Farrukh) 1985, Adhuri Mohabbat Ka Poora Safar ( WTO) 1990, Ik Qayamat hai lamha e Fikiria ( an anthology of Urdu poetry) 1987. She produced a very famous Pushto serial known as “Woona da chinaar”.
