Barack Obama was born on August 4 in 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father, Barack Obama Senior was from Kenya while his mother Stanley Ann Durham was from Wichita, Kansas. They divorced while Barack was a child and he moved to Jakarta with his mother and step-father Lolo Soetoro Mangunharj. He studied in local schools there from the age of six to ten. In 1971, he went to live with his parents in Hawaii while his mother returned to Indonesia to work as a field worker pursuing her work in anthropology. He earned a scholarship to study at Punahou School.

Barack Obama went to study at Occidental College in Lost Angeles post high school. That was the time he made his first speech and he asked for Occidental’s withdrawal of investment from South Africa as a result of its Apartheid policies.  He also traveled across Indonesia, Pakistan, and India. He began his studies at Harvard Law School in 1988. He became the editor of the Harvard Law Review. Thereafter he worked as Visiting Law and Government Fellow at the University of Chicago Law School. He also taught constitutional law at the same school. He was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1996. He became Chairman of the Illinois Senate\'s Health and Human Services Committee. In 2005, he became the only Senate member of the Congressional Black Caucus. In 2009, he became the President of the U.S. He has authored The Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama Shrink Wraps, Dreams from my Father, and The Inaugural Address 2009.
