Anwaar Ahmad was born on June 11, 1947 in Multan, Pakistan. A popular Urdu short-story writer, scholar and academician, Ahmad works as a researcher and visiting professor at foreign universities. Anwaar Ahmad completed his schooling from the Muslim Boys Highs School in Multan. He pursued his Masters degree from the Punjab University and went on to undertake his PhD from Bahauddin Zakariya University in 1985. He has authored and edited nineteen books and over eight-nine research papers. Ahmad’s acclaimed Urdu book Afsana: Aik Sadi Ka Qissa was appreciated by a wide circle of Urdu scholars and researchers in Pakistan. Some of his other books include Khwaja Fareed Kay Teen Rang, Aik Hi Kahani, Yakja, Shaukat Siddiqi Shaksiat Aur Fun and a recently translated love poem in Sanskrit called Sandes Rasik.
