Alam Lohar was born in the small village of Achh, Kharian in the Gujarat District of Punjab, erstwhile the British India. He was gifted with a melodious voice and began singing as a child. He recorded his first album at the age of 13 and outsold all other singers in Pakistan. Alam Lohar was a great poet and wrote his own songs and kalaams and also referred old books of Sufi saints and stories and compiled them in a song. His songs carry soulful lyrical content which never fails to move people. Decades after Alam\'s death, his legacy lives on with his songs being sung the way he used to sing them. His son Arif Lohar has continued the seeds of talent and taken it to the next level.
