Ahmad Bashir was born on March 24, 1923 in Ahmedabad. He is a famed writer, journalist, intellectual and film director from Pakistan. He completed his B.A. from Srinagar and went to Bombay to start a career in Bombay. Ahmad Bashir was also a portrait writer. His notable book Jo Milay Thay Raaste Mein contains pen sketches of eminent literary personalities like Mumtaz Mufti, Krishan Chandar, Meeraji, Chiragh Hasan Hasrat, Hasrat Mohani and Kishwar Naheed. He also wrote an autobiographical novel Dil Bhatkey Ga. He also wrote columns for daily Muslim and The Frontier Post.
