Born as Kamaljit Singh Jhooti, Jay Sean is a British Asian Pop singer and songwriter. Born in London to NRI parents, Jay Sean dropped out of college to pursue a career in music. His first hit track, Dance With You (Nachna Tere Naal) came as collaboration between himself, Juggy D and Rishi Rich. The track was featured in the top 20 songs in the UK charts and was also featured on the sound track of the Bollywood film, Boom. His next hit single, Eyes On You made it among the Top 10 in the UK charts. His biggest hit till date is the track, Stolen which peaked at a high of Number 4 on the UK charts. The music video for this track featured Bollywood glam doll, Bipasha Basu. By this time he had a solid fan following not only in the UK but also in India where his album had sold 2 million copies.

His latest single was released in 2007 by the name of Ride It. He has recently signed a record deal with the American Hip Hop label Cash Money Records and will soon be coming out with a remix of his track, Tonight which will feature Lil Wayne. Apart from his singing career he also did a guest appearance for the Bollywood film, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum In which he also gave the vocals for a track Dil Mera Feat. Veronica. Some of the awards he has received till date are the AMA Best Album, AMA Best Video and MTV Russia Best International Artist.
