Irfan Khan Biography of Irfan Khan : A Master's degree holder from Jaipur, Irrfan is also a National School of Drama (NSD) pass out. From Delhi, he moved to Bollywood to do theatre and television. He did quite a few television shows such as 'Banegi Apni Baat', 'Chandrakanta', 'Star Bestsellers' etc. He also did a cameo in Mira Nair's 'Salaam Bombay' but unfortunately the role was edited out at the time of release. But fame did not keep Irrfan waiting for long as he was offered yet another film, this time a lead role in the historical 'The Warrior'. This proved to be the turning point in Irrfan's career. 'The Warrior' stormed at international film festivals winning awards after awards. Irrfan soon made an identity for himself in Bollywood and commercial cinema started flooding him with offers. His debut film 'Rog' tanked at the box office but Irrfan reclaimed his popularity by doing a highly acclaimed role in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'Maqbool'. Irrfan also bagged his first Filmfare Award in the Best Villain category for his role in the film 'Haasil'. His performance in Mira Nair's 'The Namesake' was very much appreciated and the film turned out to be the one of the biggest hits overseas. Irrfan has also appeared in the Angelina Jolie starrer 'A Mighty Heart' as well as Danny Boyle's award-winning hit, 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
