Roxana Saberi is an American journalist and writer of Iranian-Japanese origin. She is the writer of Between Two Worlds: My Life and Captivity in Iran. She was born in Belleville, New Jersey to Reza Saberi and Akiko Saberi. She was raised in Fargo, North Dakota. She attended Fargo North High School and Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She studied Communication and French at college. She went on to study Broadcast Journalism for Masters in Northwestern University and completed a second Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. She was working on a third Masters Degree in Iranian Studies during the time of her arrest in Iran on the grounds of espionage. She was released in 2009. Her book titled Between Two Worlds: My Life and Captivity in Iran is an account of her life in prison.
