Rasipuram Krishnaswamy Iyer Laxman was born in 24 October 1921 in Mysore and is known as India\'s greatest cartoonist. He is widely recognized for his creation The Common Man.
Laxman\'s career began with illustrating his elder brother R K Narayan\'s stories in The Hindu. He then moved on to work for newspapers and magazines, like Swarajya and Blitz. His first full-time job was as a political cartoonist for the broadsheet The Free Press Journal in Mumbai, where Bal Thackeray, was his colleague. Laxman later moved to work with The Times of India, beginning a career that spanned for five decades.
His books, which are a compilation of his cartoons, include The Very Best of The Common Man, Management of Management, Tunnel Of Time, Laugh with Laxman, Distorted Mirror, You Said It.
